§ 34-75. Duties upon making arrests.

  • One member of the police department shall at all times be at the police station and, whenever any person shall be arrested, it shall be the duty of the person making such arrest to cause the prisoner to be taken to the police station and the officer on duty there shall put down in the book to be kept for that purpose the name of the person arrested, his last and present residence, with street and number, the nature of the offense charged against him, the name of the complaining witness, together with the names of all witnesses on behalf of the village, and their last and present residence, with street and number, and take necessary legal measures to secure the attendance of such witnesses at time of trial.
