§ 6-86. Term of license; renewal; fees.

  • (a)

    Each licensee shall make application for renewal of his license not less than one month prior to the end of the licensing period. If the liquor control commissioner determines that the renewal application for license, in which any way is changed from the original application for license, in which case a new investigation of the license application is necessary, a new application fee shall be charged to the licensee to cover costs of such investigation, in addition to the yearly license fee.

    (b)

    If after investigation, it is determined that the applicant is not entitled to a renewal license, the yearly license fee shall be refunded. The application fee is not refundable.

    (c)

    A renewal license shall be issued provided that the licensee is entitled to receive a license and provided that the premises for which renewal license is sought are suitable for such purposes; provided further that the renewal privilege herein provided for shall not be construed as a vested right which shall in any case prevent the village board from decreasing the number of licenses to be issued within the village.

    (d)

    Any application for a license renewal or quarterly payment made less than 30 days prior to the end of the licensing period shall result in the surcharge in the amount provided in the village fee schedule.

    (e)

    All license fees shall be in the amount specified in the village fee schedule and shall be paid to the local liquor control commissioner at the time the application is made or such fees may be paid in quarterly installments, provided that the first installment is paid at the time of application and each additional installment is paid prior to opening for business on April 1, July 1 and October 1 of the year for which the license is issued. If the installment method of payment is used, there will be an additional charge of ten percent of the annual fee for the license held, per year, to be paid on application, to cover the additional administrative costs incurred by the village.
