§ 54-25. General authority of police relative to traffic.

  • Police officers of the village may, in case of emergency or to expedite the flow of traffic, direct the movement of vehicles or pedestrians, notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter. Such officers shall have power and authority to order the driver or other person having charge of any vehicle to move such vehicle from any place in any street in case such vehicle is obstructing traffic, and any person neglecting or refusing to comply with or obey any such order shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this chapter.
