§ 36-123. Fortunetelling, spiritualism, and related practices.

  • (a)

    Any person who shall obtain any money or property from another in the name of, or by means of, spirit medium-ship, palmistry, card reading, astrology, seership or like crafty science, or fortunetelling of any kind shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

    (b)

    It shall also be unlawful for any person to hold or give any public or private meeting, gathering, circle or seance of any kind in the name of spiritualism or of any other religious body, society or denomination, and therein practice or permit to be practiced fraud or deception of any kind.
