§ 2-693. Appointment of firefighter and police officer generally.

The board of fire and police commissioners shall appoint all officers and members of the fire and police divisions of the village, except as otherwise specifically provided in this Code; provided, that all appointments to such divisions, other than that of the lowest rank, shall be from the rank next below that to which the appointments are to be made.
