§ 12-104. Water meter installation; fees.

  • (a)

    The installation of a new water meter shall be made by the water department personnel. The building owner or customer shall provide the proper installation of piping, fittings, and accessories in the general location, and to the dimensions specified by the water department, for the installation of the new meter. All preparatory work shall be approved by the water department.

    (b)

    The water department shall provide the water meter for the customer at cost, plus an installation cost computed with the standard labor charge per employee. Any additional materials or fittings not provided by the customer, but required to complete the installation, shall be supplied at cost to the customer.

    (c)

    The water department shall maintain a schedule of current material costs for estimating installation costs. The labor charge specified for the meter installation provided in the village fee schedule is subject to adjustment by the water department to compensate for unusual installation conditions.
